Portrait Shoot: Jon

Jon is another actor here in Boise and was a lot of fun to shoot.  He had a lot of fun ideas for pictures and this is just a sample of what I captured.  Along with performing around the state he is also the playwright and adapter for CAT theater group's most recent performances.  We may do another photo shoot where he gets to play with costumes and theater makeup.

Daisy'e Madhouse: Three Comic One Acts

I was asked to so some photography for a very fun theater project.  It was a series of three one act plays written by a local playwright.  They were very funny, clever and very "out there."  Very original work.  The evening also included a green show to warm up the audience.  This was a guy playing a guitar and singing politically incorrect but very funny songs.  It was a fun evening and a pleasure to capture images for these very creative people.

Big Smoke Employee Photo

Here's a mid week mini post for a quick job I did last month.  A local company was having a conference for all of its store managers and admin office staff and hired me to do a group photo.  So it was a fairly quick job.  I put a mini softbox on my flash gun and then mounted that on a tripod.  Then I connected that to my camera with a long cable.  The idea was to fire the flash from a side angle to give more depth and detail to the picture.  It worked very well and easily captured nearly everyone's face.  I also shot the picture from the top of a ladder.  The important thing is that the customer was very pleased with the results.

CAT Theater: A Trilogy Of Parodies

The CAT theater group is at it again.  This time they compiled their previous 30 parodies of Star Wars and Lord of the Rings into a single performance and added something new, all of the Harry Potter books/movies boiled down to a half hour with four actors.  The results were predictably hilarious.  It was a challenging shoot with minimal lighting and I was shooting from behind the audience.  Also there was an actor running frantic circles around the audience to look out for.  But the show was fantastic and the everyone attending had a great time.
