Rose Hill Cemetery

We decided to do a photo walk over to the Rose Hill Cemetery.  I believe it's the second oldest cemetery in Boise But is also still in use for current internment.  I've always wanted to do a photo walk there because of the great age of some of the trees and monuments.  There's an incredible variety of structures to observe.  As it turned out, we got there a little late and eventually the light gave out.  There at the end we were playing with longer and longer exposures using the bulb setting.  It didn't come out quite the way we planned but we still got some cool stuff anyway.

New Zoom

I recently acquired a new zoom lens and took it up to the Lucky Peak Reservoir to test it out.  You can shoot all sorts of pictures with the zoom and the thing to keep in mind is that elements in a picture get a different perspective when seen through the zoom lens compared to a conventional or wide angle lens.  The foreground seems closer and the background seems further away.  So it was a lot of fun taking pictures with a different effect and not have to be too close.  I also took my first moon picture.  Now that I have a zoom, that's an idea that I plan on playing with in the future.

Fall Color

It seems like I've been waiting all year to do this blog post.  I've really been looking forward to seeing all the colors in the leaves change and to really take the time to study them with my camera.  It gave me a fairly wide window of opportunity to see things as I traveled with my camera, take the shot and add them to this pile.  In the end, I just selected a few that I chose to share.
