Wake Island Survivors Reunion

I was hired by local documentary film maker Seth Randal to photograph a reunion of WWII veterans.  They were captured at the start of the war and brutally imprisoned in Japanese camps through the war.  This is all part of a documentary that Seth has been working on and his interviews have revealed some amazing and horrifying stories.  On the bright side, the veterans at the reunion were a high spirited bunch as were their wives and widows who also attended.  I'm glad to have participated in this worthy cause.

Stage Coach Theatre: Wait Until Dark

A very suspenseful and chilling play at Stage Coach Theatre.  It had so many surprising plot twists that they asked me to wait until the show closed before publishing the pictures because the pictures would reveal too many spoilers to potential audience members.  This was a very challenging shoot because so much of the show takes place in dim lighting.  Also it's set in a basement apartment in 1950s New York City.  So the color scheme was dominated by browns, tans and blacks.  Still it was a very successful photo shoot and play.  I hope you enjoy the pictures.

Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic

A couple of weeks ago I photographed the Spirit of Boise Balloon Classic.  This is an annual event that extends over a weekend where balloonists converge on Boise for group flights.  It makes for fantastic visuals and gets a lot of attention, seeing hot air balloons floating over the city.  Though for them to take flight safely, the weather conditions have to be perfect.  This day was one of those where the weather wasn't cooperating and they couldn't fly.  However they did inflate the balloons and then give tethered rides of up to twenty to thirty feet off the ground for children.  And it was very impressive to see all these very many balloons inflate and then stand up.
