Memorial Day: The Wake Island Documentary

This year for Memorial Day I thought I'd drop by another participant in the BoDo's Artists in Residence program to meet Seth Randal, a Boise documentary film maker and his latest work: Wake Island.  This film looks at Wake Island during World War Two and the attack there on December 8, 1941 by Japanese airplanes and ships.  Of local interest, there were 1,2000 civilian construction contractors on the island including many from Idaho.  Some of those civilians ended up in prisoner of war camps.  This documentary gives voice to those who have been completely overshadowed by the magnitude of the Pearl Harbor attack.

Boise's Down Town Farmer's Market

Over the years, the Down Town Farmer's Market has grown in size and shows every sign of getting bigger. What may have started out as a venue for locally grown produce has expanded to include crafts, arts and services.  There's also various musicians performing around the market contributing to the carnival atmosphere.  I took lots of pictures of the market one Saturday and only captured a portion of what's available.
