Stage Coach Theater's New Permanent Space Nears Completion

Stage Coach Theater's new permanent home is almost finished.  The occupancy permit has finally been issued and they are going to have a "soft opening" for their next production on May 25.  While there's lots of little details to be taken care of, a little paint here and there and whatnot, they are pretty excited to give the building a test run for their show "Cockeyed." The new theater is at 4802 W. Emerald, Boise Idaho.  Then this fall at the start of the next theater season, they will hold their Grand Opening when everything should be just perfect.

Self Portrait 52 Project Spring Update

Here's a look of the progress that I've been making on a project I'm working on this year.  In a previous blog post I mentioned that I'm doing a self portrait project that produces a picture of myself for every week of the year.  The point of the project is to come up with fun and interesting ideas and to flex some creative muscle.  Here's some of the pictures that I've come up with so far.  They include some typical shots, some action ideas, a picture of me directing a rehearsal for a play and even some sci-fi fun.

First Thursday at the Modern Hotel

While First Thursdays happen all year round, once a year the Modern Hotel hosts a special event for local artists.  The whole hotel closes down and each room is registered to a particular artist or art group.  These artists take over the rooms and do everything from performance art, environmental sculpture to just displays of their work which is frequently for sale.  This event has become incredibly popular over the years and one of my greatest challenges in recording this event was lugging my big camera through the pressing crowds.  Still there were a lot of fascinating and creative things to see.  I managed to capture just a part the experience.  I hope you enjoy it.
