HDR to Gray Scale

I recently read an article about creating HDR (high dynamic range) images and then converting them to black and white.  That sounded like a lot of fun and so I thought I'd try my hand at this technique.  HDR gives you a lot of power over the amount of detail and texture that that appears in your image.  However the ironic thing about converting a color image into black and white in photoshop is how much control you have over color.  You can control the intensity of each of the major color groups in the photograph and as a result you can manipulate what parts of the image draws the most attention or just fades into the background.  I hope you enjoy these pictures.
